Studied Conducted :
|
Dec 2008 to Feb 2009
United Kingdom
HSUPA QoS
Testing Vodafone's HSUPA Data card around UK. The study involved testing QoS levels in static state in urban, sub-urban and rural areas as well as in moving cars, busses and trains.
April 2008 to Sept 2008
Tanzania
WiMAX Operation and QoS
The research involved studying challenges involved in designing, implementing and operating a WiMAX network. It also tested the QoS levels experienced by the end users receiving services from a WiMAX network. This study involved the entire system building cycle from feasibility study, requirement specification, design, implementing and testing as well as capacity building for operating and maintaining.
March 2007 to May 2007
United Kingdom
HSDPA QoS
Testing T-Mobile's HSDPA Data card around UK. The research involved testing QoS levels in static state in urban, sub-urban and rural areas as well as in moving cars, busses and trains.
|
Oct 2007 to Jan 2008
Tanzania
QoS Requirements for Rural Areas
The research established the recommended QoS required for rural and remote areas. It involved determining activities of Internet users and used that data to determine the minimum QoS levels that will technically satisfy users' demands. This research involved more than 1000 participants mostly from higher leaning institutions.
2001 to 2000
The Institute of Finance Management (IFM), DSM, TZ
Advanced Diploma In Computer Science
Main subjects being Networking, Programming with C, C++ and Visual basic, Web engineering, Databases, System Analysis and Design and Computing Mathematics and IS Management.
Oct 2007 to Jan 2008
Tanzania
Challenges in bridging the digital divide in Tanzania
Conducted in parallel with the QoS one, this research investigated the issues that cause the digital divide in Tanzania. It also examined the barriers that face the initiatives to bridge the gap.

OTHER PARTICIPATED RESEARCHES
Advanced Location Based Services – Participated in a team conducting a research to find ways of preserving mobile devices resources by cutting the maps to be downloaded to the smallest sizes and loading them only when wanted. My key role was to provide communication link between the mobile devices and the database that contains maps. (UK)
M-Learning – Participated in a team that conducted a research to investigate ways to incorporate mobile assisted learning. The research looked into ways mobile devices can be used to assist or replace tour guides in museum, cities etc. The project involved creating a video of a tour guide and showing it to participants on order to investigate whether they can use it as a guiding tour instead of a human tour guide. My role was to create a script for the video, directing it as well as showing to the participants and collecting and analyzing their responses. (UK)
